Kristin Cavallari does not intend to have football playing run in the family. The former MTV reality star and fiancé to Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler said she does not want her newborn son, Camden, following in his father's footsteps by playing football.

"I will try to steer Cam in a different direction, maybe a sport that isn't so aggressive," said Cavallari to DNAinfo.com Chicago.

Could this be because she has watched Cutler take multiple beatings in his career? During Cutler's time in the NFL with the Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears, he has suffered multiple concussions and various other injuries to his knee and neck that kept him off the field for multiple games. There is no question that football is a tough sport and Cavallari believes Camden should get involved in something that does not involve a high level of aggression or getting hit. She suggests Camden take up baseball.

Cutler does not seem to share the same concern as his fiancé. In an interview back in November, Cutler said that he would not mind if his 5-month old son played football, stating there are numerous players in the NFL that have played football for many years and live completely healthy and normal lives.

This statement from Cavallari seems to follow a recent trend of concern over player safety in football. President Barack Obama recently said that if he were to have a son, he would think twice before letting him play football due to the violence level of the sport. Player safety is a constant issue with the NFL with a growing number of players out with concussions and having health issues years after they are done playing professionally.

Cavallari believes that no matter what, if her son wants to play football, she will not have much control over it. When the boy's father is the starting quarterback of the Chicago Bears, it is hard to argue with him wanting to take after his dad.
