PGA Tour Championship Schedule: Tiger Woods Arrives, Tee Times and Live Stream For Rory McIlroy, Phil Mickelson

Aug 06, 2014 11:23 AM EDT

The PGA Championship 2014 from Valhalla starts up on Thursday and the tee times for the tournament have been released for the first and second round and it comes after Rory McIlroy won for the second straight tournament after taking the British Open and the Bridgestone and now the big question is whether Tiger Woods will be in the field with Phil Mickelson in his group after dealing with another injury to his back and that could be a big hit for the PGA Tour.

Woods and Phil Mickelson will start off in the same group if all holds and this is just the sixth time the two have been together at a major. The last time that happened was back in 2012 at the US Open and now Woods has the chance to do it again. The two will be teeing off around 8:35 am ET on Thursday for the first round and then the two will be in the afternoon on Friday for the second round.

McIlroy is coming into things after winning the past two tournaments and he will be teeing off in the afternoon on Thursday and he will be playing with Bubba Watson and Martin Kaymer. McIlroy was able to overtake Sergio Garcia while coming back in the final round to win on Sunday and now he has his number one ranking back as well. After having a dreadful 2013 and Woods won five times, now the two have swapped and it's McIlroy who is rolling.

Woods was forced to pull out of the Bridgestone in the final round after dealing with a back injury after falling into a bunker after an awkward shot and now he could be in doubt for the tournament. Things at Valhalla start on Thursday and Woods is expected to be there, while McIlroy comes in as the favorite after winning last week and also at the British Open before that.

Woods has not won a major in years and now McIlroy has the chance to add a second just this year and that would be massive if he can do it again. McIlroy is back at number one after he gave that back to Woods last season and he now comes in as British Open champion after winning at Royal Liverpool. McIlroy has been impressive and now he gets the chance to tee off with a group of major champions on Thursday when things start up. Woods missing the tournament would not be surprising, but he was hoping to get things together heading into Valhalla after the rough year he has had while missing time for injuries.
