The Miami Dolphins explored a Dion Jordan trade this offseason before he was suspended and now the team is focusing on rookie workouts, as players like DeVante Parker, Jay Ajayi and Tony Lippett could end up as solid contributors for Ryan Tannehill this season and this comes as the team is hoping to sign the quarterback to a contract extension.

--UPDATE: Collins has signed with the Cowboys

The Dolphins come into the season with pressure to make the playoffs, as they have been in the mix but have not broken through in recent years. The team has Tannehill coming off of his best season and they spent big on Ndamukong Suh and others in free agency. Joe Philbin could be on the way out if the team misses the playoffs again and that is why players like Parker and Ajayi can help make a big impact.

The Dolphins may have more moves to make after the draft, as they have looked at a Jordan trade and they are also targeting La'el Collins. According to Pro Football Talk, the Eagles, Patriots, Dolphins and Bills have shown interest in Collins, who went undrafted after his name came up in connection with a murder case. According to NESN.com, Collins has a "solid alibi" for the murder of his ex-girlfriend and he has already had contact from teams.

NESN reports that Patriots have reached out to Collins and that the Dolphins have enlisted his former teammate Jarvis Landry to also help out. Collins was considered a first round talent and he slipped out of the draft after the off the field developments. The Dolphins have a major need on the offensive line and signing Collins could be a big coup for the team. The Bills are also interested and the team met with Collins with Rex Ryan sitting down to dinner with him.

According to Bleacher Report, the Eagles are also interested in Collins and he has had interest from "at least seven teams" following the draft. Ryan may look at Collins as a replacement for the first round pick the team traded last year to get Sammy Watkins, while the Patriots have a need and could bring in Collins. According to Jason Cole, the Saints, Detroit Lions and Rams as well as Ravens are interested in Collins along with the other teams mentioned above.

The Dolphins would have loved to traded Jordan, but he now is suspended for the 2015 season. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer & Daily News, the Eagles were interested in Jordan and there previously were talks between the teams about making a deal for a "conditional late-round pick". Jordan played for Chip Kelly at Oregon and that is where he was the most effective compared to his time in the pros. Jordan has been considered a disappointment since the Dolphins traded up for him and he had just three sacks in the past two seasons for the team.

Tannehill comes in after setting career highs in completion percentage, passing yards and touchdowns and he is in line for an extension. According to the Miami Herald, the team picked up the fifth year option on Tannehill, but they want to work out a long term deal. The reports says it could be for at least $100 million over seven years. Parker is a new weapon for Tannehill and he could be a starter with Kenny Stills and Jarvis Landry for the Dolphins this year.
