2016 Draft Needs New Orleans Saints: Connor Cook, Paxton Lynch Future Replacements for Drew Brees? Myles Jack, Jaylon Smith Targets?

The Saints currently have a ton of cap issues to work out as they have the least amount of cap room out of any team in the NFL.

They also need to restructure the contract for Drew Brees to free up some cap space. Picking at 12 does them no favors either as they will need to fill several holes after the top ten picks have already been taken. New Orleans is currently in need of a weak side linebacker, a guard, a quarterback, and a cornerback.

The Saints biggest issue is likely cornerback as they gave up the most points in the NFL.

By the time they pick it is likely they will have missed the top 3 corners in the draft so expect them to look at Leonard Floyd, Jaylon Smith, or Myles Jack as their selection if they fall that far. The Saints could also see themselves taking their quarterback of the future as Connor Cook or Paxton Lynch could still remain on the board.

The Saints need to hit on all of their picks this season as they will likely not have a big budget to bring in free agent superstars. With Sean Payton and Drew Brees staying in the Big Easy it is likely they will look for some pieces that complement their style of play.
