J.R. Smith Bombs Chris Paul's Halftime Interview Covers Guard's Face with Towel (PHOTO)

Anybody who follows the NBA knows J.R. Smith isn't somebody you would mess with on the court. Simultaneously, people also know he's a clown on the court and he proved on Sunday as he covered Chris Paul's face with a towel as he was in the middle of a halftime interview with ABC.

Yes, Paul was fresh off his first half play. He was in the middle of speaking and BAM! Smith struck out of nowhere with a towel, threw it on the point guard and then slightly held on to the towel over Paul's face.

Once one of the more polarizing players in the league, Smith is working his way to be a fan favorite in New York as the Knicks are off to a hot start this season. Smith's contributions from the bench have given the team a powerful scoring combination. As Carmelo Anthony takes a breather, guys like Smith, Amar'e Stoudemire and Steven Novak (though he hasn't been the same threat from three).

As much as Smith tried stealing the spotlight and blinding Paul, the Los Angeles Clippers were able to win this matchup on the road as they were able to get back to their winning ways. Before Paul was covered with the towel, the Clippers were up at the half, 52-44.

Former Knicks, Jamal Crawford, felt right at and had a team high 27 points. Paul, who had sat out for the previous couple of games, dropped 25 and finished with seven assists.

Anthony, the Knicks' forward, had a game-high 42 points and Smith finished with only six points after going 1-9 from the floor.
