Larry Bird's Son Arrested, Faces Multiple Charges After Altercation With Ex-Girlfriend

NBA Hall of Famer Larry Bird's 21-year-old son Conner Bird was arrested by Indiana University campus police Sunday after allegedly attacking his girlfriend and trying to hit her with his car, according to multiple reports.

He also allegedly had marijuana in his possession.

According to the university police, the alleged victim told officers that Bird chucked a cellphone at her during the argument in Bird's apartment, striking her in the wrist.

Bird then went to the alleged victim's home and waited for her. The two ended up in his car in a parking lot on campus where, police said, another argument ensued. The woman got out of the car to walk home when Bird is accused of trying to hit her with his car twice

IU police chief Keith Cash told the Indianapolis Star that police had a witness to the incident and that Bird faces charges of battery with injury, criminal mischief, intimidation with a deadly weapon and marijuana possession.

No formal charges against Bird had yet been filed by the Monroe County prosecutor as of 11:30 a.m. today, said an administrative assistant at the prosecutor's office.

It's not Bird's first run-in with the law -- he was reportedly arrested in 2011 for underage drinking and disorderly conduct.
