President Obama will address the nation on Tuesday night in his State of the Union speech, the first of his second term.
President Obama is known as a huge sports fan, but he likely wont be addressing any of those topics on Tuesday night. He recently made news when he spoke about maybe not allowing his son play football if he had the option and he always makes picks for March Madness, including last year when he wrote out his ballot on ESPN.
His speech has already been reported about and commented on before it has even aired and the media says that Obama will focus primarily on job creation, the economy, as well as gun control issues and climate change. One thing that is known for sure that he will talk about is the withdrawal of over 30,000 troops from Afghanistan within the next year.
Some Congressional members are bringing victims of gun violence and their families to the speech, while Republican congressman Dick Stockton is bringing Ted Nugent, a man who said he would like to kill the president or go to jail before acknowledging that he won a second term.
Republican Marco Rubio will be giving the Republican rebuttal, while Rand Paul will be giving the response for the Tea Party.
The White House is offering an enhanced version of the State of the Union, while there also is the mobile app that can be used to watch it. The website has all types of graphs and statistics that will go together with Obama's speech and the app has interactive features as well.
The speech will be broadcast on television on every main channel and news network, including on CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS, FOX, CNN, CLTV, CNBC and MSNBC. It will be the fourth speech for Obama and hopefully no one will interrupt like Joe Wilson did during a joint session of Congress in 2009, completely disrespecting the office and where he was for no reason.
