The Miami Dolphins looks like the team that might convince Greg Jennings to sign in 2013. Jennings, who made an appearance in NFL Network on Wednesday, wasn't completely frank about where he'd like to go, but he dropped a few hints as to where he wouldn't mind landing.
When asked about his preference of the Dolphins, Jennings responded, "I wouldn't mind that at all. The weather's definitely nice. They have an up and coming quarterback."
Of course, the weather could play a role in Jennings decision after the 29-year- old wide receiver spent his first seven seasons in the NFL as a member of the Green Bay Packers. Goosebumps, flushed faces and visible breath are the first images that come to mind when thinking Green Bay. Just as New York Giants head coach, Tom Coughlin whose face almost fell off in 2007.
The idea of playing in Miami just seems warm and probably fuzzy as well for Jennings who put together amazing seasons with the Packers, when healthy of course.
His best performances came from 2008-2010. Jennings totaled 25 touchdowns and averaged over 1,200 receiving yards in those three seasons. He was a big part of the Packers Super Bowl XLVI run.
Another reason why analysts believe Jennings will land in Miami or place them at the top of Jennings' list is because he spent time with Dolphins' head coach, Joe Philbin. who was a part of the Packers' coaching staff for five years.
Also, for those unaware of the Dolphins' quarterback, Ryan Tannehill had a pretty exciting season in his rookie year in the league. He finished with a 7-9 record, passed for 3,294 yards, threw 12 touchdowns, 13 interceptions while rushing for 211 yards and two touchdowns.
The Dolphins already have their No. 1 receiver in Brian Hartline, adding Jennings will only give Tannehill another great target.
Other teams rumored as top landing spots are the Minnesota Vikings, St. Louis Rams and Indianapolis Colts.
Jennings will not be returning to the Packers as he's put his home for sale. Let's hope he doesn't go through a Kurt Warner.
