Kris Humphries' lawyer has officially divorced him. As the never-ending divorce between Humphries and Kim Kardashian continues on, so does the drama surrounding it. Now it appears Humphries might be losing the battle. His divorce attorney, Marshall Waller has filled to drop his client.
The move comes right before the estranged couple were supposed to appear for a joint court appearance on Feb. 15. The papers filed to the L.A. Superior Court, Waller cities irreconcilable differences, causing an "irremdiable breakdown of the attorney-cleint relationship.
Humphries has been pushing to get an annulment for the 72-day marriage, claiming it was based on fraud. He also wants Kardashian to pay all of his legal fees. However, Humphries' now ex-lawyer says he is "abusing the legal system" for insisting on an annulment. Waller cannot find proof of fraud. He made it clear to Humphries that there was not legal ground to push the fraud case any further.
Both parties are meeting in court Friday. Kardashian's lawyer Laura Wasser, will demand a trial date as early as next month, but Humphries is claiming the trial must be on hold until basketball season ends. The divorce case has already been stretched for more than 450 days as Humphries continues to demand everyone involved give a deposition.
Waller's decision to leave could delay the trial as well. It would be the fourth time the trial has been delayed based on a decision by a judge since their marriage ended over a year and a half ago. Superior Court Judge Stephen Moloney will determine how the case is going to proceed. He believes the case should be ready for trial within the year.
Kardashian is set to have a baby in July with boyfriend Kanye West. Each side is accusing the other of using the pregnancy for a legal advantage.
