NFL Free Agents 2013: Most Underrated Players Available in the Market

We know the Percy Harvins, the Mike Wallaces and Joe Flaccos of the market. These are guys many franchises would like as they could surely provide change and make a new team or their present team competitive. However, there are a few guys being overlooked who are also available if their current organizations don't step up and make an offer.

Dwight Freeney
You've heard of this guy before.

He's been an Indianapolis Colt his entire career and has been terrorizing quarterbacks for 11 years now with a total of 107 sacks in his career. That's almost 10 sacks a season.

Freeney was injured in 2012, yet stick recorded five sacks during the season.

Places to Land: New York Giants, New England Patriots

Michael Johnson
Off the top of your head, who was one of the five players with 11.5 sacks and ranked ninth in the league in that category? If you said Michael Johnson, then you guess correctly.

The Cincinnati Bengals' defensive lineman had a great season. In just his fourth year in the league, Johnson was able to create chaos for opponents and almost doubled his 2011 total number of sacks.

Dashon Goldson
When you think of hard-hitting cornerbacks and safeties, the San Francisco 49ers immediately come to mind. From that batch, Goldson is always the one who you can count on to make a big play. The 49ers have a great defensive team, so Goldson might be hiding beneath the names of Patrick Willis and Aldon Smith.

Goldson wants to remain a 49er and maybe a five-year, $40 million deal can seal him up?

Drew Stanton
The New York Jets had him and now they want him again or are the Arizona Cardinals better off with him?  Stanton doesn't really have impressive numbers, but he's yet to really have a chance to play regularly.

In 2010, he totaled 780 yards in six games played (three starts) with three touchdowns and six interceptions. For his career, he has seven touchdowns, five passing and two rushing, nine interceptions and 1,158 yards passing. The stats aren't impressive at all, but with the Cardinals  one of many teams who could use a quarterback, Stanton should receive some playing time in 2013.
