Liverpool Transfer News: Arda Turan Bid to Be Made in the Summer; Fabio Borini Interesting Fiorentina

Liverpool are looking at the possibility of bringing in Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan in the summer, according to reports in Spain.

Turan has been one of the standout players for Atletico in the season so far, as they look to challenge Barcelona for the title, while holding onto second spot from Real Madrid.

The Turkish playmaker was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in the January transfer window, which was quickly shot down by Atletico manager Diego Simeone.

Turan has also reportedly interested Liverpool for quite a while, and Brendan Rodgers might be ready to make an offer, with a £19 million ($29 million) bid forthcoming, according to Madrid-based Spanish newspaper AS.

Atletico will almost certainly be playing in the Champions League, while Liverpool almost certainly will not. So, it remains to be seen whether the lure of the English Premier League, and of course higher wages, will be enough for Turan to decide to leave Atletico in the summer.

Meanwhile, a player who could be on his way out of Anfield is Fabio Borini, after Fiorentina made public their interest in the Italian forward.

Borini has had a horror first season with Liverpool, with injuries completely disrupting his progress, with the latest one, just weeks after his return ruling him out for the rest of the season.

"We seek a striker with a hunger for goals in their DNA, a player who lives for the goal," Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade told Radio Toscana.

"We like Fabio Borini, but it's hard to see that Liverpool will let him go.

"Osvaldo? I don't think Roma would reinforce a direct competitor like us, but you must never say that a deal is impossible, even if now it's cheaper to buy players abroad."

Borini's agent Marco De Marchi also played down suggestions of a move, saying his client's future lies at Anfield. "His future is definitely at Liverpool," he said. "He's signed a long-term deal with one of the most glorious sides in the world game."
