UFC 157 features Ronda Rousey vs. Liz Carmouche in the first ever women's championship main event. We have the live stream available, but first, let's look at the matchup as both ladies look to make history in the sport of UFC.
Rowdy is the favorite. She comes in with a 6-0 record standing at 5'7" and 135 pounds with a reach of 66 inches. She is an Olympian and even posed for the ESPN Body Issue, which bolstered her popularity as many wondered how such a beautiful face could attempt to take punches, but she doesn't mind the sport.
Her most recent fights saw her defeating Sarah Kaufman in Aug. 18 2012. She won that one in the first round by submission. This wasn't a new tactic for Rousey since the last four matches shes fought have ended in submissions all in the first round. She's not one to joke around too much, as you can see.
Rousey became pro in 2011 and has enjoyed an amazing career so far.
As for Courmache, she's the underdog attempting to take the Women's Bantamweight from Rousey. Courmache posts a 7-2 record, stands at 5'6" and also weighs 135 pounds. The Louisiana native is coming off consecutive losses and hasn't fought in over a year.
Courmache was beaten by Sarah Kaufman back in July of 2011. She went three rounds before losing to Kaufman by unanimous decision. Before that, in March 2011, Carmouche lost to Marloes Coenen by submission in the fourth round.
She has nothing evil to say about her opponent and instead speaks respectfully of the champion, "I think it's a great matchup. She's an athlete that I look forward to facing.
Courmache has been a professional since 2010.
