Manchester City will be wary of the threat posed by Chelsea, who could go to within one point of their rivals, when the two teams face off in the English Premier League Sunday.

City are currently 15 points behind leaders Manchester united, with just 12 games remaining, while Chelsea are only four points adrift of the Premier League champions and will have their eye on second place.

"I think City are a great team," Chelsea manager Rafa Benitez said. "In the last few years they have improved and spent some money. They have a great team, a great manager, and there is a positive atmosphere around the team and the club, which means it will be difficult to beat them. They don't lose too many points at home and they are very strong.

"We have had a lot of clean sheets and we continue to score goals. We were strong in defence but didn't create many chances, now we have a lot of chances and we are conceding less goals. The balance is there and we are improving. The priority is to win this game, if we win this game we will be closer. If not, we have to keep on fighting."

The Blues do not have too many worries on the injury front, with only Oriol Romeu a long-term absentee. The likes of Frank Lampard, Branislav Ivanovic and Ashley Cole are sure to have appreciated a rest in midweek and will be raring to go against City.

Man City might again have to do without skipper Vincent Kompany, while Gareth Barry is also a doubt.
