NBA Playoffs 2013: Standings with Teams Fighting for 8th Seeds

The NBA Playoffs are scheduled to begin in less than two months. Every game, especially against conference opponents, means the world to every team especially those at the bottom of the standings. Check out the records for all teams in contention as the NBA Playoffs are soon to take off.

Currently, the most interesting team to follow has been the Los Angeles Lakers as they are making a playoff push late in the season. They are just one game away from .500 and are currently on a three-game winning streak. They have yet to drop a game following the All-Star break and Dwight Howard appears to be healthy.

Of course, people want to keep pace with their performance because many want the Lakers to fail. However, Lakers Nation is suddenly watching a revitalized team in action. The Lakers are 28-29 and are 2.5 games behind the Houston Rockets.

Analysts don't believe the Rockets will let up and fall behind the Lakers. They predict the only way the Lakers can get into the playoffs is if the Utah Jazz drop a couple of games.

Over in the East, the Toronto Raptors and Philadelphia 76ers are making a run at the eighth place Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks are struggling and currently own the last spot in the Easter Conference. They are 26-28 and are losers of three straight gams.

The Miami Heat appear to have the No. 1 seed on lock in the East and are looking for home-court advantage as they trail the San Antonio Spurs for the best record in the NBA.

Trailing the Heat in the East are the Indiana Pacers who are six games back and the New York Knicks are third in the East 6.5 games back.

In the West, The Oklahoma City Thunder trail the Spurs by three games and the Los Angeles Clippers are five games back.

Soon enough, teams will begin clinching playoff spots and winning their respective divisions.

This should be a hell of an ending to the 2013 NBA season as the playoffs are set to take off on Apr. 20. Here are the 2013 standings as of Feb. 25.
