While Arsenal are expected to finally invest some real money on established talent, Arsene Wenger will never move away from his ideology of bringing in some of the best young players in the world.
Keeping that in mind, Arsenal are being linked with two youngsters who have tremendous potential and are expected to grow into regular internationals sooner rather than later.
Julian Draxler and Sebastien Corchia are being looked at by Wenger and a summer move could be on the horizon for the duo.
Draxler has come on leaps and bounds this season for Schalke, and has particularly thrived ever since Lewis Holtby's departure to Tottenham in January.
The 19-year-old playmaker has been in good form for the German club and is considered to be one of the best talents in the Bundesliga.
Interest for the teenager, who came through the ranks of the Schalke youth system, was inevitable and the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and the two Milan clubs, along with Arsenal have been credited with an interest.
Schalke general manager Horst Heldt admitted the club had received several inquiries over Draxler, but insisted they were not prepared to sell.
"There has always been reported interest from international clubs," Heldt was quoted as saying by German newspaper Bild. "And now we have had inquiries for Julian.
"But this is not a topic for us. A sale is not up for discussion."
Any club will have to fork out quite a considerable amount with Draxler tied down to a contract which only expires in 2016. The young German international, though, said he was flattered by the interest.
"It's great to get inquiries," Draxler said. "But I feel good at Schalke and want to take my career forward."
Meanwhile, with Bacary Sagna's future at Arsenal still in doubt, Wenger is lining up a move for Sochaux rightback Corchia, according to reports in France.
The 22-year-old is the France under-21 skipper and has been tipped to take over from Sagna when the Arsenal man's international career rolls to an end.
Sagna, whose current contract ends in 2014, has reportedly turned down a one-year extension from Arsenal.
The Gunners are unlikely to offer a longer contract, with the rightback having suffered two broken legs over the past couple of years and concerns over his knee not abating.
Sagna is reportedly disappointed by the offer, which also does not involve a pay rise from the current £60,000 a week ($91,000) salary.
Arsenal are also looking at Feyenoord rightback Daryl Janmaat.
