There is no tomorrow for the guys of the Netherlands. They need to win in order to ensure their advancement into the second round of the 2013 World Baseball Classic tournament. You might believe Australia has nothing to play for, however, they are playing for their nation and pride. They are currently 0-2 in the first two games having suffered losses to Chinese Taipei and most recently, Korea. In total, Australia has scored one run and that came in a 4-1 loss to Taipei. They were shutout by Korea 6-0.
As for the Netherlands, they had Chinese Taipei early on in their game as they lead 3-0. The Chinese Taipei bats awoke and scored eight unanswered runs to win the game. The win gave Chinese Taipei a 2-0 record almost ensuring their entrance into the second round.
Depending on what happens in this first game, the final result of Pool B could be decided after Chinese Taipei meets Korea in Pool B's last round robin game in the first round of the tournament.
On the mound for the Australians will be Dusham Ruzic a 31-year-old righty. For the Kingdom of Netherlands, they will have Robbie Cordemans on the mound. The 38-year-old right hander will be in charge of giving the Netherlands a higher chances of making the second round.
