Katherine Webb Poses In Underwear and Opens Up About Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, Boyfriend AJ McCarron and 'Splash' In Vanity Fair Spread (PHOTOS)

Katherine Webb has had a whirlwind year since being featured on the BCS telecast on ESPN as the girlfriend of Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron, as she has worked the Super Bowl for CBS and appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.

Webb is also set to appear in the new ABC series "Splash" and she spoke about her newfound fame as Miss Alabama USA in an interview with Vanity Fair. The story appears in the April issue and finds Webb talking about her boyfriend as well as working the Super Bowl.

The magazine spoke to her about Alabama football games, as her boyfriend is current quarterback and two-time BCS champion AJ McCarron. As an Auburn fan, her allegiances are divided, but she always roots for her boyfriend.

"People will decorate their cars with window paint, and they'll have flags representing their team as they go to the game. A lot of the girls will totally dress up in their favorite team's colors. A girl will dress up head to toe. Girls will wear their team game-day dresses with their face tattoos. It's like the Kentucky Derby of Southern football," Webb said. "Football is like a religion, hence the state of Alabama having one of the greatest rivalries in all of college football between Auburn and Alabama. People from both teams take it so seriously. Teams have said they hate each other. It's creating almost a civil war within one state."

She went on to talk about her boyfriend AJ McCarron and how people view their relationship.

"Now you can see why an Auburn grad, who is a beauty queen dating a University of Alabama star quarterback, will make national headlines. People call us the Romeo and Juliet of Alabama," she said.

Webb spoke about being featured on the telecast of the BCS championship game when Brent Musberger mentioned how beautiful she was. That was the start of Webb's rise, as she exploded in popularity after that.

"My first time being on national television was at the B.C.S. National Championship Game. I didn't know they were going to show me on national television, so there I was wearing my No. 10 Alabama jersey and my jeans," she said. "Before all this happened, I spent a lot of time doing modeling as well as pageants and so I've been trained on how to handle that type of attention."

Webb was asked about appearing on her new ABC show "Splash", which features celebrities diving. She mentioned how she was able to even keep her makeup on while filming the show.

"I use eye primer when doing my eye shadow, so that helps it stay on longer. Urban Decay has amazing primers and setting sprays that I use daily. I've tried so many different things, and that's the only thing that works for me. That and Dior waterproof mascara. I think L'Oreal also has 24-hour gel eyeliner," Webb said.

Webb has been involved in a number of events since the game, including the Super Bowl, the Sports Illustrated Swimsut issue and now the TV show. She reflected on her crazy year with the magazine.

"Now it's kind of funny because I end up using my height to my advantage and making it into a career. When you're in front of the camera and you're walking the runway as a model, it almost forces you to portray confidence and eventually makes you believe that you really are confident. Modeling and pageants help me overcome feeling insecure about the way that I look and my height. For me to go from feeling like I was the ugly duckling to winning Miss Alabama U.S.A., and going on to Miss U.S.A. and taking pictures for Sports Illustrated and being labeled as one of the most beautiful women . . . I love sharing that with girls who are in my position at that age and kind of coaching them," Webb said.
