Barcelona will look to put behind their recent disappointments when they host Deportivo La Coruna in the La Liga Saturday.
Barca are still reeling from the Cup exit at the hands of Real Madrid, while they will also have half an eye on the Champions League second leg against AC Milan, where they will need to turn a two-goal deficit if they are to have any chance of progressing.
However, the game against Deportivo, who are currently bottom of the table, will provide a good chance for the runaway La Liga leaders to get back some of their lost confidence.
"We hope it will be a better week than the one before last -- I look at the players and I'm optimistic," Barca assistant manager Jordi Roura told reporters.
"This Saturday's game is very important for us, we have to keep the lead we have at the top."
Barca are currently 11 points clear of second-placed Atletico, who along with Real play only Sunday. So, three points against Deportivo can take the Catalans 14 points ahead of their nearest rivals, and a massive 16 clear of Real.
"When things are going well, people are often just too euphoric -- but when we lose, there is too much pessimism," Roura added. "For us, the league is very important and there is still a long way to go before we can say we've won it. We have to play each game as it comes along.
"They are very competitive players and they feel really bad when we are not at the level we want to be at. We've trained really well this week and the players look really focused on Saturday and determined to fight back on Tuesday."
Roura is likely to make several changes to the starting lineup, keeping in mind the more important game against Milan Tuesday. Victor Valdes and Gerard Pique are suspended, while Xavi is not expected to feature despite returning to training.
