READ ABOUT MEXICO vs. CANADA BRAWL HERE
It's Mexico vs. Canada at the 2013 World Baseball Classic as both teams meet in Pool D action at 2:30 p.m. ET. The Canadians are looking for a win while the Mexicans are looking to solidify their spot at the top of the Pool D with a win today.
The Mexicans are coming off a big victory against the U.S. following a debilitating loss to the Italians. With R.A. Dickey on the mound, Adrian Gonzalez sent a two-run bomb that gave the Mexicans some cushion as they embarrassed the talent-filled roster of the U.S. 6-1.
For the Canadians, it was a bit of a struggle in their first game. They pretty much handed the Italians the first round after losing 4-14 in their game Friday. It's definitely a performance that's forgettable for Canada and today they will look to prevent the Mexicans from possibly clinching a spot in the second round.
If Canada wins, it will tighten up the the race and then eliminate the Mexicans from competition. The fight for the second place spot would be settled in the last game of the series as the Canadians play the U.S.
On the mound for Mexico is right hander Marco Estrada, while Canada will send Chris Leroux to the hill in Phoenix, Arizona.
