The Los Angeles Clippers, also known as "Lob City", are known for their aerial assaults towards the basket, in large part to the All-Star Blake Griffin.
However, on Sunday evening it was DeAndre Jordan's name that was trending on Twitter for his monsterous alley-oop slam over the Detroit Pistons Brandon Knight.
According to Yahoo! Sports, with approximately 4:30 remaining in the second quarter, superstar point guard Chris Paul brought the ball up the court, immediately drove to his right, and threw a very high pass for Jordan.
With his uperior athleticism and strength, Jordan caught the ball, turned to finish with a ferocious right-handed dunk, that left Knight flat on his back on the ground.
After the dunk, Jordan made a free throw to complete the three-point play. That sequence kept Twitter abuzz for hours afterward, with fans praising Jordan and expressing their condolences to Knight, many tweeting variations of "RIP" to the point guard.
Jordan even got some praise from some of his NBA peers around the league who were also stunned in amazement from the thunderous slam.
