Dominican Republic vs. Italy Score of WBC Game with Live Updates and Play-by-Play

Italy and the Dominican Republic face off at 1 p.m. ET and for those who want to watch the game, but can't check out the score with up-to-the-minute updates and play-by-play. Italy wrapped up the first round 2-1 and they will take on a 3-0 Dominican team that is focused and looking to stay perfect in the 2013 World Baseball Classic.

Both teams brought offense to the first round of the WBC as the Italians scored 22 runs, while the Dominicans put up 19 runs. Italy's most successful game came against Canada where they scored 14 runs. Unlike Italy, the Dominicans never touched double-digits scoring putting up nine runs against Venezuelans for their biggest offensive game.

Dominican pitching has been better off than Italy's, though. The Dominican Republic hasn't allowed more than three runs in any of their games posting a 2.67 ERA in the first three games as a team. They have allowed a total of just eight runs while the Italians have surrendered almost twice as much with 15.

It will be a matchup of MLB talent versus guys who simply want to represent their country. The Dominican Republic is absolutely loaded with MLB all-stars, while Anthony Rizzo is the most popular Italian player and he's just about to enter his third season in the majors.

If you can't watch the game, check out the WBC Gameday which will allow you to see the Dominican and Italy batting lineups, pitchers, stats and live play-by-play along with the scoreboard.
