Manny Ramirez Signs To Play Baseball In Taiwan With EDA Rhinos, Former Los Angeles Dodger Star Makes New Beginning In Asian League

Manny Ramirez has made a comeback to baseball following his issues with steroids abuse, signing a contract with the EDA Rhinos in Taiwan's professional baseball league.

According to ESPN.com, Ramirez signed a short-term contract with the team and will earn $25,000 a month to appear with the team during this year's March-November season. Ramirez spoke at a news conference for the team and said that he feels "blessed" and that it is a new beginning for him.

"I don't think about the money and contract," he said. "I just think it is a great opportunity for me and the fans."

Ramirez is making a comeback after hitting .302 for Oakland A's Triple-A affiliate in Sacramento, which followed his off the field problems in 2009 and 2011. During his time in the majors he was one of the most feared hitters and helped the Red Sox win the World Series in 2004, after which he was named MVP. His last MLB action was with the Rays in 2011.

The new league he will play in has four teams and he will likely be the biggest draw.
