Jeff Gordon Prank For Pepsi Max Ad Goes Viral As NASCAR Driver Prepares For Bristol, Champion Says Denny Hamlin Will Pay Fine For Comments (VIDEO)

Jeff Gordon is one of the most popular drivers in NASCAR, which is one reason why his video for Pepsi Max with an unsuspecting car salesman went viral on the internet.

The video shows a crazy test drive with Gordon and the salesman, who says his name is "Mike" before taking the two on a ride. Gordon does a number of turns and burnouts and drives at a high speed and it was all captured by a hidden camera. The ad stunt was effective and had nearly two million views on one day

Gordon has had a solid start to the season heading into Bristol for the weekend and he also made news while talking about Denny Hamlin and his fine for comments about the Gen-6 car, saying that he expects the driver to pay his $25,000 fine.

"Well, we're in Vegas, so we all can take bets on when [Hamlin's] apology is coming," Gordon said Friday. "Your guess is as good as mine. It's been interesting to see someone challenge [NASCAR's] authority. But at the end of the day, we all know whose sandbox we're playing in. I like that sandbox and I like playing in it."

Hamlin was fined by NASCAR for making disparaging comments about the new cars and while Gordon said he understands Hamlin's frustrations, the rules are rules.

"Listen, I've been there before, when I wanted to challenge [NASCAR]," Gordon said. "That's his prerogative, but sometimes the bigger picture is the way to look at it."

NASCAR heads to Bristol Motor Speedway on Sunday for the Sprint Cup series, where Gordon is looking for his first win of the season.
