Indian tennis icon Sania Mirza lost her first round match against Bulgaria's Tsvetana Pironkova, in the Women's Singles event of the 2012 Australian Open, in Melbourne, on Monday. Pironkova crushed her opponent by a 4-6, 2-6 margin, in the first major grand slam event of the year.
The match was over inside of an hour-and-a-half. Mirza was the country's only representative in the single's draw, both men and women.
The result is a mirror of her 2011 performance.
