UFC 158 Fight Gets Heated As Georges St-Pierre Accused Of Steroids Use By Nick Diaz Ahead Of Event At Montreal Bell Centre In Canada

Nick Diaz and Georges St-Pierre are about to face off in one the most anticipated UFC fights in recent memory and things have started to get heated, as Diaz has accused St-Pierre of taking steroids and performance enhancing drugs during his career.

According to ESPN.com, Diaz made the statement while speaking with Sportsnet Radio leading up to the fight at UFC 158 and said that he felt that St-Pierre is using drugs in his training. The interview followed a news conference at the Bell Centre and was just one of many comments Diaz made leading into the fight, as he also made arguments with St-Pierre in a conference call earlier in the week.

"I believe [St-Pierre] is on plenty of steroids, and I don't think they test around here, either," Diaz said. "I doubt I'll be tested. I don't care what they're saying or marketing to the media -- and if so, he's probably got a bottle of p--- in his pocket. I doubt they're standing over him making sure he's not on steroids."

Diaz was asked afterwards about if president Dana White would "tolerate" the steroids abuse, he responded: "Sure, why not?"

St-Pierre is the favorite in the fight as he seeks to improve his 23-2 record and his eighth consecutive title defense, which will be at UFC 158, which is being regulated by the Quebec Athletic Commission. The report says that St-Pierre hasn't lost since April of 2007 and also has never tested positive for any banned substance.

White spoke about the comments on Thursday and said there were no issues with the Canadian and steroids.

"He's never been busted for anything," White said. "The guy's fought a million times in title fights, and mostly guys in title fights are the ones that get tested."

St-Pierre spoke similarly about the situation during the news conference and Diaz himself has failed two drug tests, but those were for marijuana. Those tests saw him get suspended one year by the Nevada commission, although Diaz is a registered medical marijuana user in California.

"I've never cheated once in my life," St-Pierre said.

Diaz appealed his case and los, although marijuana is not a banned substance out of competition and he is allowed to use it between fights, but not during that time. The biggest issue for him there is making sure the drug is out of his system, as it can linger after stopping use, which he says is what happened last time.

"I did a little more than I did last time," Diaz said. "I'm sorry if I don't pass the test, but I think it should work out."

White said that a third test would likely get him bounced from UFC, but that remains to be seen if that will happen. This is the next big event following the debut of Ronda Rousey, who is the first women UFC champion.
