Dominican Republic vs. Puerto Rico Score: Play-by-Play and Live Updates of World Baseball Classic Championship

It's Puerto Rico vs. Dominican Republic at the 2013 World Baseball Classic featuring two Caribbean teams for the first time since the games began. Check out the score with live play-by-play and updates for all those who can't watch the game. Lets break down these matchups first.

The Dominican Republic are the favorite. They are undefeated posting a 7-0 record and have defeated the Puerto Ricans twice in the tournament already.

On the mound for the Dominicans is Samuel Deduno, who has allowed just one run in eight innings pitched. He has completely shut down the opposition in both games pitched, but only received credit for one victory. He also has what the Puerto Ricans seem to lack, a strike out pitch.

The Puerto Ricans will have Giancarlo Alvarado on the mound as he has been one of the more dominant starters on this staff. He's thrown 8.1 and allowed two runs while striking out eight hitters.

We saw the Dominicans eventually hurt the Netherlands' Diegomar because he couldn't finish them off once with two strikes on hitters. The fact that Alvarado can strike out hitters is a good sign for Puerto Rico.

The action begins at 8 pm ET. Click here to follow the live score with up to the minute updates of the game. The WBC Gameday will allow you to see pitch velocities, pitch count, scoreboard, batting lineups, who's at bat, on deck and in the hole.
