Chelsea Transfer News: Frank Lampard to Talk with England Manager Roy Hodgson Before Making Decision on Future

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard admitted he would have a chat with England manager Roy Hodgson about the possible repercussions of him moving away from Europe in the next step in his career.

Lampard, as it stands, will be out of contract at the end of the season, with Chelsea yet to offer an extension, and the 34-year-old has been tipped to move to one of the more lucrative leagues in the world.

The MLS is an option, with L.A. Galaxy keen to replace David Beckham with the Blues man, while there have also been offers from, Australia, the Middle East and China.

Hodgson had warned Lampard earlier about moving outside Europe, as the England manager would find it difficult to keep an eye on the veteran's progress, and the quality of the league would not be as high as the ones in the continent.

Everything would be perfect if Chelsea were to just offer Lampard the contract that he clearly deserves and wants, with the England man expected to break Bobby Tambling's all-time Blues goal-scoring record by the end of the season. Lampard is currently on 200 goals, just two short of the mark.

Lampard admitted he would take into consideration his England future before making a decision on his future move.

"Yes (England will be a big part of the decision). Whilst I am available for England, I want to do my best to try and put myself in the squad," he told reporters.

"If I am playing and in good enough form, I'd like to be included if we qualify for (the 2014 World Cup in) Brazil.

"That doesn't rule anything out. I've seen players get picked before playing all over the world.

"If there's ever a time, whenever it is, where there is an option of going outside Europe, I am sure Roy and I would have the conversation, whether it's before or during."

Lampard has also another achievement in sight, with the midfielder currently just six appearances short of hitting the 100 mark, and the Chelsea man hopes to be able to reach that figure sooner rather than later.

"I'm here and ready to be involved, hopefully in both games," he added. "I'm pleased with the amount of games I've played and I'll keep trying to keep going and see if I can pick up some more caps.

"I watched Steven (Gerrard) do it, I watched Ashley (Cole) do it now and I've been in the squad for a long time for those boys. It's a very proud moment for any player that reaches that.

"On the flip side, having played 94 times now if it all ended today I'd be very proud of what I've done for England. Without wanting to look six caps ahead, I'll try and go game by game. If I did get there I'd be a very proud man.

"I do enjoy it, particularly in the last year or two of my career. As you get older you understand it won't go on forever so I do really appreciate playing for my country as much as ever, even more so maybe, I really do enjoy coming, I enjoy playing.

"My body reacts better to staying training and playing and keeping on top of myself. Whether it's Chelsea or England, I'm enjoying both at the minute so it's good for me."
