Syracuse Defeats Louisville 52-51

The Orange defeated the Cardinals with a one-point win that stopped the winning streak since a 76-66 decision in 2006. It was a touch play and neither team led by more than eight points.

"It was an unbelievable defensive struggle tonight," Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim said following the game. "Both teams have difficult defenses to play against... You can either give the defenses credit or say it was a bad offensive game. We're going to look on the bright side and say it was a real defensive struggle."

Louisville shot 34.7 percent from the field and Syracuse shot 34.4 percent from the field. Syracuse made a season-low one three-pointer in 15 tries at 6.7 percent.

The Cardinals still lead the rivalry 13-5 and the two teams will play against on March 3 at Syracuse.
