O.J. Simpson's Infamous Murder Trial Will Be Turned Into A Miniseries On Fox

Former NFL running back O.J. Simpson's now notorious 1995 murder trial for his wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ronald Goldman is set to be turned into a television movie.

"These are both epic stories -- one fiction, one fact -- that have captivated millions of people worldwide," said Shana C. Waterman, a senior vp at Fox. "They're riveting and emotional, with unique historic backdrops that lend themselves to the high-quality, dramatic event series we're looking to make."

The projects are dubbed "event series" by Fox instead of the traditional term "mini-series.

The drama will be based on Jeffrey Toobin's 1997 book The Run of His Life: The People vs. O.J. Simpson and it's main focus will be on the infamous low-speed car chase Simpson led police on throughout the city of Los Angeles, as well as the courtroom drama, which ended in his acquittal.

"'The Run of His Life' will 'take viewers behind the scenes of 'The Trial of The Century', driven by the nonstop plot of a courtroom thriller and presenting the story of the trial as it has never been told," Fox promised.

Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, the writing team who delivered The People vs. Larry Flynt, will be responsible for this movie's script.

Simpson is currently serving a prison sentence of up to 33 years for kidnapping and armed robbery stemming from a separate case.
