RG3 Circus Elephant Throw A Success As Robert Griffin III Plays Catch With Animals at Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey (PHOTOS)

Robert Griffin III is ahead of schedule in his recovery and things have gone so well that the Washington Redskins quarterback was able to play catch the circus over the weekend with an elephant at Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey in Washington.

According to ESPN.com, Griffin and the elephant got to play catch the event and he was able to toss a football that was successfully caught by the animal in the ring. Griffin tweeted about the catch on Sunday and Joey Frisco III, who is the elephant's handler, said that Griffin is the first to make a throw to the animal besides him and said how "genuine" and "humble" the quarterback was.

"I pointed out to him one time what to do, and [on his second try] he threw it up and she caught it," Joey Frisco III told The Washington Post. "Usually it takes time for elephants to get used to how someone's gonna throw, but an NFL superstar quarterback, he knew exactly what to do," he told the newspaper.

Frisco said that the elephant is one of a kind and that it is the only one he has seen who has been able to catch a football.

"I told RG III, it's not like throwing to Pierre Garcon or Santana Moss, but I don't think anyone could tackle her if you want to hire her," Frisco told the newspaper. "Kelly Ann's the lucky one, to me. I've been playing football since I was 11 or 12 years old and I've never got a chance to catch a football from an NFL star, and within a year she gets to catch a football from one of the greatest quarterbacks in the world."

Griffin is dealing with rehab from knee surgery to repair two ligaments and the surgeon who performed the surgery, Dr. James Andrews, called Griffin a super human.
