Liverpool Transfer News: Sow Open to Anfield Summer Move; Rush Wants Williams to be a Red

Fenerbahce forward Moussa Sow has welcomed interest from Liverpool, saying he would definitely consider a move to Anfield, while Liverpool legend Ian Rush has implored Brendan Rodgers to make a summer move for Swansea skipper Ashley Williams.

Sow was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in 2012, before he signed for Fenerbahce from French club Lille. However, recent reports suggest Liverpool have reignited their interest in the 27-year-old Senegal international.

Liverpool are not necessarily in the market for a striker in the summer transfer window, having bought Daniel Sturridge in the January transfer window, but might be forced to go for someone, if they lose Luis Suarez, who is a major target for Bayern Munich and Juventus.

Sow has been in good form this season, scoring 17 goals and providing eight assists in all competitions.

"There is a lot of talk," he told Liberation. "I'm happy at Fenerbahce and don't think about leaving.

"However, everyone knows I want to play in the Premier League one day.

"If Liverpool made a formal offer, if my club accepted I would be happy to play in England."

Meanwhile, club legend Rush said he wants to see Williams in a Liverpool shirt next season.

Liverpool are looking to bring in a capable defender at the end of the season with Jamie Carragher set to retire, and Williams is reportedly Rodgers' number one target.

"To get in Ashley Williams would be great," Rush, who has scored 364 goal for the Reds, told the Liverpool Echo.

"I've seen him play for Wales on a number of occasions and he is organised and a good captain.

"He knows what he is doing and the link to Liverpool is natural because Brendan Rodgers managed him at Swansea.

"At the right price Swansea would let him go although that they are in Europe next season may have a bearing on his decision.

"But he would be good for Liverpool with his experience."

Liverpool, though, face stiff competition from Arsenal for the 28-year-old, with Arsene Wenger also reportedly ready to make an offer in the summer.
