CBS Analyst Apologizes As Doug Gottlieb Makes Racial Comment On NCAA Tournament Show, Sorry For 'White Man's Perspective' (VIDEO)

Doug Gottlieb is considered to be one of the top analysts in college basketball on television, but on Thursday's pregame show for the NCAA Tournament he made a racial comment, saying that he was there to "give kind of the white man's perspective."

According to the Washington Post, Gottlieb was sitting in with Greg Gumbel, Greg Anthony, Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley talking about the analysis of the upcoming games when he uttered the comment. He got an awkward reaction from Anthony and later apologized for making the statement, stating that it wasn't the right thing to say.

Charles Barkley later defended Gottlieb, saying: "I know this has nothing to do with the game; I want to say something about Doug Gottlieb," Barkley said. "He made a joke earlier tonight and people are going crazy. All those idiots on Twitter, which I would never ever do, all you people at home who've got no life and are talking bad about Doug Gottlieb, get a life. It's over with. It's no big deal."

Later Gottlieb wrote on Twitter that it was a joke, writing: "It is called a joke RT @BrucePittman61: @GottliebShow "White man's perspective." really?"
