Baylor Women Stunned As Robert Griffin III Hits Twitter To Defend Brittney Griner and Lady Bears After NCAA Tournament Louisville Upset

The Baylor Bears lost to Louisville in a stunning upset over the weekend on Sunday and after some rough play and controversy at the end of the game, former Baylor star Robert Griffin III took twitter to defend star Brittney Griner and his Lady Bears.

According to ESPN.com, Griffin went on twitter after the game and wrote about the rough play from the Cardinals while defending Griner, who was criticized by some for her pedestrian stat line that saw her score far less than her average of 33 in the tournament. She scored just 14 poins and added 10 rebounds as the team lost as the top seed to number five Louisville, giving the Cardinals both the men and women's teams still alive in the tournament.

Griffin was a big fan of the team when he was at Baylor and the team now is home after winning the national championship last season and winning 32 straight games, including 74 of the past 75. The team looked like the best in the nation and coach Kim Mulkey was unhappy with the calls be the officials during the game and their allowing of such rough play.

Griner now finishes her career with an upset loss after winning the championship last season.

Griffin wrote a number of Tweets, including : "them girls were LITERALLY throwing elbows, slaps &" and that "for every (3-pointer) they made, they threw 6 elbows, 5 straight lefts, 4 right hooks & 3 roundhouse kicks, 2 jumping knees, & 1 superman punch at B. Griner's abdominals. Aiming for her face but couldn't reach &"

He later added: "To those who are mad and lose respect for me because I support my school and support my friends & I would rather have the guts to stand up for them, then to have that respect for sitting down & saying nothing."
