AHL’s Whale Says Farewell to Avery

The New York Rangers have reportedly said goodbye to Sean Avery who was told on Tuesday that he will not in in the roster for the postseason at the Ranger's American Hockey League affiliate in Connecticut.

Avery was last placed on waivers on Dec. 30, 2011 just before the Rangers wen to Philadelphia for the 2012 Bridgestone Winter Classic.

Avery's last game was on Jan. 28 when the four-year contract ended as the final year that paid him $15.5 million.
