JaMarcus Russell 27 Pounds Lighter After Weight Loss As Oakland Raiders Quarterback Attempts NFL Comeback, New York Jets of Buffalo Bills Options? (VIDEO)

JaMarcus Russell is attempting to make an NFL comeback this season and in doing so he has slimmed down nearly 30 pounds, giving him the look of his former self when he was a number one overall draft pick and the future of the Oakland Raiders.

According to NFL.com, Russell has been working hard in the offseason to shed weight and get his fundamentals back to form as he tries to catch on with an NFL team. At one point he was over 300 pounds and now he is down to 288 with his goal of getting to 270. He had been releasing videos of his progress and a new one shows off his weightlifting work.

"Through the first couple weeks, I could barely make it through the workout," Russell said. "We go in to do the warmup, and here I am breathing like a fat man. Now I'm breathing pretty good and able to stand up on my own two feet."

Russell doesn't have many options, but the Jets have shown they are willing to take on a challenge and there were rumors earlier in the offseason that they took a look at him. The Bills could be an option too even with signing Kevin Kolb, as they only have Aaron Corp and Tavaris Jackson left on the roster.
