NFL Free Agency Rumors: Tom Brady Throws Passes To Terrell Owens During A Workout, Possible Preview Of What To Come?

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was recently spotted working out at USC with teammate Danny Amendola and an unlikely receiving target in Terrell Owens.

According to reports this isn't the first time Brady has worked out with receivers near his Southern California home, spending extensive time with former teammate Wes Welker and Julian Edelman in previous offseasons.

The Patriots begin their offseason workout program April 15, while organized team activities start May 20.

Owens, on the other hand, hasn't played in the NFL since the 2010 season. He's been looking to find his way back on the field for any team willing to give him the opportunity.

Owens is currently second in the NFL all time in receiving yards and third in receiving touchdowns.

The 39-year-old wide receiver spent just more than three weeks with the Seattle Seahawks during training camp last August but eventually was released prior to the start of the regular season. He spent the 2010 season with the Cincinnati Bengals, starting 11 of 14 games with 72 catches for 983 yards and nine touchdowns.

Owens also tweeted about the workout, noting it also involved Minnesota Vikings and former Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel.

Workouts aside, the combination of Brady and Owens sounds like a lethal combination that can still do some great things.

Brady is arguably the best quarterback in the league today and he has the leadership and attitude to handle and keep Owens focused on the goal. Add in the coaching of Bill Belicheck into the equation and I can't see how Owens can't work into the system.

Owens has shown much more maturity in comparison to his earlier years with different teams. Besides the Patriots seem to have a knack to keep players, especially their receivers, in check. If you need any proof just look at the change in Randy Moss and Chad Johnson when they came to the Patriots.

Sure they weren't much help with offensive production, but at least they kept their mouths shut and weren't cancerous to the locker room.
