Midfielder Tomas Rosicky believes the Arsenal must improve on their home form, after the battle for a top-four place was placed in their own hands following results at the weekend.

Arsenal battled to a 2-1 win over West Brom Saturday; a game which was a stroll in the park for 70 minutes, and resolute back-to-the-wall defending for the last 20.

The Gunners currently lie in fifth, two points behind Tottenham and Chelsea. However, Arsenal and the Blues have a game in hand over Spurs, and Rosicky believes the club will qualify for the Champions League next season, if they correct their inconsistent home form.

"During the last couple of games we have produced some good football," he was quoted as saying by the club's official website. "It gives you confidence when you win in Munich and at a place like West Brom when in the last 20 minutes your backs are against the wall.

"But if you are speaking about third or fourth place you have to win your home games. Our form there must improve.

"If you go back and analyse well the game against Tottenham that was not a bad performance. We made two stupid mistakes and we were punished for them. We tried to correct them and you could see the improvement in Munich.

"We are in a position where we just focus on ourselves now. It is tricky to think all the time 'where are Tottenham and Chelsea playing?' We just concentrate on ourselves and what we are producing.

"We have the experience (of coming from behind) last year. The team knows the situation that could be (to) our advantage. But as well we know we have to be more consistent.

"And if we produce football every week like we did on Saturday then I am confident we will get there."

Rosicky scored both Arsenal goals against West Brom, and Arsene Wenger could not have been happier with the midfielder's performance.

"He's had problems with injuries and then there was a problem with competition for places as well because you have Wilshere, you have Cazorla," Wenger said.

"He's such an important player who turns the game forward, brings movement into the game, makes a game look simple and you feel when he has the ball that something can always happen. Not many players have that in their locker.

"Before he played too far away from the box. I always played him wide but I put him in a position where he is more central now. He's more dangerous to score.

"I said to him 'today is a really special game for you because you scored two.' The most important thing is he scores them when you need them and we needed them."
