NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament 2013 National Championship Connecticut Huskies vs. Louisville Cardinals From New Orleans Prediction and Preview

The Louisville Cardinals won the men's championship on Monday night and the women's team could go for a repeat on Tuesday in New Orleans as the lady Cardinals take on the Connecticut Huskies for the Women's NCAAS Basketball National Championship.

The Huskies overcame some struggles against Notre Dame to finally beat the team after losing three times this year and now will be back in the national championship game for a record amount of times against a team that has been the underdogs all tournament. UConn took down a  Big East team and now will play another one in the finals with Louisville, who came from behind to defeat Cal 64-57 on Sunday.

Breanna Stewart has been the star for UConn and she came through again on Sunday, as she scored 29 points against the Irish and also added four blocks to send Skylar Diggins and Notre Dame home early. The Irish beat out UConn for the Big East regular season and tournament title and the Huskies overcame losing the past two Final Fours to the Irish.

The game ended Diggins' career with the Irish and now the Huskies have a chance to get its eighth title, something only Tennessee has done. The two teams have played a number of times over the past few years and now that the Irish are moving to the ACC, it may be a while for the rivalry to get going again. Notre Dame saw its record 30-game winning streak snapped and now is on the losing end after the Irish advanced in the past Final Four.

UConn was down early but made a comeback, giving them some momentum heading against the Cardinals, who defeated the top ranked Baylor Bears in a stunning upset earlier in the tournament. Antonita Slaughter scored 18 points against the Bears and the team came back from 10 down at halftime to win. The team now will need to pull an even bigger upset to have a chance to beat UConn.

Prediction: UConn ends the magical run for Louisville as they hoist another trophy.
