New Notre Dame Announcer Is Dan Hicks With Tom Hammond Out For Irish On NBC As Lead Play-By-Play Man, First Time In Booth For Spring Football Game

Notre Dame is one of the most recognizable brands and teams in all of sports and the school's television broadcasts on NBC are about to get a new voice, as Dan Hicks is set to replace Tom Hammond on NBC as the main play-by-play man in the television broadcast booth.

According to Yahoo Sports, Hicks will start taking over for Hammond during the weekend's spring football game for the Irish and he will be the new lead for the television broadcasts for college football next season. Hammond has been a stalwart for Notre Dame games since 1992 and the network said that he will continue to work a number of other events, including the track and field t the Olympics, figure skating and Triple Crown racing.

Hicks is a well-known announcer on NBC and he has previously worked in golf and swimming overage as well as past football experience with the NFL. The new team will include Hicks, Mike Mayock and sideline reporter Alex Flanagan.
