Boston Red Sox Baseball Game Preview: First Pitch at 7:10 p.m. ET First Game Following Marathon Bombing in Cleveland Against the Indians

The first place Boston Red Sox face the Cleveland Indians in their first game following the marathon bombing that has so far left three dead and over 140 injured. Check out game time, pitching matchups and where to watch this game as it will undoubtedly be an emotional one for this Boston club.

The city of Boston needs a distraction, and you better believe the Red Sox are ready to provide their fans with some form of good news as they look to defeat the Indians, who are struggling despite making hefty and expensive changes over the offseason. For the Red Sox, this will be more than a regular season game, they will want to win it for their city and their fans.

You know the Red Sox will be amped, from starting players to players who won't even be active, but simply having the jersey on allows players to connect with their fans. Here are two guys who took to Twitter immediately, Jon Lester and Shane Victorino.

Another guy taking to Twitter passionately is their young third baseman, Will Middlebrooks, who has been tweeting and sending his regards to fan since the incidents from Monday afternoon.

On the mound for the Red Sox, Felix Doubront, who struggled in 2013. He's made one start surrendering three runs in five innings pitched along with nine base hits, no walks and six strikeouts. The 25-year-old will look to improve on this first start and guide the Red Sox to victory. He will get help from the opposition as Ubaldo Jimenez wasn't able to duplicate a fabulous start to his season. After only allowing one run in six innings against the Toronto Blue Jay, Jimenez gave up seven to the New York Yankees in 4.1 innings pitched. His command was off as he struck out four, but walked three.

The Red Sox are already giving their city a reason to smile as they are in first place with an 8-4 record and winners of three consecutive games. They are 1.5 games ahead of the charging Yankees, who have surprised many out of the gate.

The Indians are off to a rocky start though they too are just 1.5 games from first place. They are 5-6 behind the Detroit Tigers and Kansas City Royals.

Game time is at 7:05p.m. ET.
