The San Francisco 49ers are known for their history of great quarterbacks in Joe Montana and Steve Young, and now the son of the Hall of Fame quarterback will participate in the team 's pro day, as Nate Montana will work out at the facility on Wednesday.
According to NFL.com, the 23-year-old quarterback will work out at the local 49ers pro day in Santa Clara after also working out at the NFL Regional Scouting combine in Dallas at Cowboys Stadium earlier in April. Although he got a tough evaluation from NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks, who said that he doesn't have the arm for the NFL, Montana will still get a chance to show off his skills for the 49ers.
Montana has been at a few different schools over the course of his career, including at Notre Dame before playing at Division II West Virginia Wesleyan, where last season he had 2,480 passing yards and 19 touchdowns . Chances are Montana will not be drafted next week, but he could later sign as a free agent.
Montana previously played at De La Salle and then went to Notre Dame in 2008 before transferring multiple times. After being at Pasadena City College and Notre Dame again, Montana went to the University of Montana in 2011, where he was a backup.
