NBA Playoff Bracket: Round-by-Round Breakdown, Who Could Your Team Eventually Meet? Seeding and Predictions

The 2013 NBA Playoffs are soon to tip off and we have the bracket outlining possible matchups of each round after each series is over. Who knows, maybe fans will be surprised and an upset will occur. Many have the Miami Heat and the Oklahoma City Thunder repeating an NBA Finals matchup, but there are 14 teams that would beg to differ. Check out the NBA 2013 Playoff bracket to find out who your team is destined to play.

The Eastern Conference is probably the toughest of the two sides to predict. One can easy have the Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals, but the truth is that the New York Knicks have owned them in 2013. There are battles that can go either way as many believe the Boston Celtics will challenge the Knicks in the round as they are fueled by their hurting city. Here's what the Eastern Conference bracket looks like in the first round.

1. Miami Heat
vs.
8. Milwaukee Bucks

4. Brooklyn Nets
vs.
5. Chicago Bulls

2. New York knicks
vs.
7. Boston Celtics

3. Indiana Pacers
vs.
6. Atlanta Hawks

From this first round, the conclusion can be drawn that the Heat will beat the Bucks and the Pacers are more than likely beating the Hawks. The Knicks are likely to beat the Celtics and the Heat are expected to cruise in the first round. The Bulls and Nets battle isn't truly defined as the Nets are 1-3 against the Bulls in 2013. So let's say the Bulls do win. The Heat would face the Bulls and the Knicks have the Pacers.

This is just an example of the possible second round matchups, it's nothing written in stone.

Over in the Western Conference, the picture is a little more clear. Though they would be great stories for their players and cities, the top four teams in the standings are the heavily favorite, although the San Antonio Spurs are a big question mark due to their health and they face another unhealthy team, the Los Angeles Lakers. The Spurs are missing a couple of important pieces while the Lakers are missing THE important piece in Kobe Bryant.

Here are what the Western Conference standings look like heading into the playoffs"
1. Oklahoma City Thunder
vs.
8. Houston Rockets

4. Los Angeles Clippers
vs.
5. Memphis Grizzlies

2. San Antonio Spurs
vs.
7. Los Angeles Lakers

3. Denver Nuggets
vs.
6. Golden State Warriors

The Thunder are expected to breeze by as well as the Nuggets. The Clippers and the Spurs have tougher battles ahead of them, but they will likely advance. This will leave the Thunder vs. Clippers in the second round, while the Spurs would face the Nuggets.

Let's just say, though many would love the upset and perfect playoff story, the Heat and the Thunder are very likely to end in the 2013 NBA Finals.
