Derek Jeter, the New York Yankees captain and current member of the team's disabled list, will have a press conference addressing the media on Thursday. Check out the live stream of the announcements Jeter will make expected to take place something this afternoon.
For Jeter fans, do not worry, your hero will not be announcing his retirement, though that date is inevitably soon to come. Jeter will be announcing his joining of the Yankees as he had yet to send time with the team due to rehab for his left ankle. Jeter recently found out that he had chipped bones on his ankle, which pushed back Jeter's expected return in May. Now, Jeter won't be expected in the Yankee lineup until the All-Star break.
Jeter will be around with a walking boot and will be side by side with his teammates as they hope he can heal and return to the everyday lineup as soon as possible.
Surprisingly, as many didn't give the Yankees a chance following Jeter's injury in the 2012 postseason and the absence of Curtis Granderson, Alex Rodriguez and Mark Teixeira from the starting lineups. The Yankees currently have close to $90 million on their disabled list. However, the Yankees are 11-9 and in third place in the A.L. East, which isn't bad at all.
