Los Angeles Lakers Rumors: Is Their Playoff Series Against San Antonio Done Already? Dwight Howard Says Not So Fast

The Los Angeles Lakers are down 2-0 heading into Game 3 of the first round series against the San Antonio Spurs, and after being dealt with another handful of injuries, many are counting the out already.

However, center Dwight Howard claims that despite the injuries, the Lakers aren't done just yet.

"We're not going to go down," Howard defiantly told USA TODAY Sports. "We're going to fight. There's no (mentality of) 'we're going to go down fighting.' We're going to fight. We're going to keep fighting. We've got a lot of bodies, some strong players, so we're just going to keep fighting.

"I want to win, you know what I'm saying? It seems like everything is not going our way, but I'm going to fight through it. I'm a fighter. I'm not going to quit on these guys. I'm going to show them that they can ride my back. It's not over. It's only two games. You've got to win four."

Things will be tough for the Howard and the Lakers, who will now be without Steve Blake for Game 3 Friday night, and he could be joined by both Steve Nash and Jodie Meeks on the sidelines.

ESPN is reporting that Blake is out indefinitely after an ultrasound Thursday confirmed a moderate strain on his right hamstring.

Blake left Wednesday's Game 2 loss to the Spurs with 4:51 remaining in the fourth quarter and had to be helped off the court by teammates after the game. He hurt his hamstring while driving to his right and trying to beat his man off the dribble when he felt a "sharp pain."

Meanwhile, Nash has received two epidural injections in his back and a cortisone shot in his right hip Thursday and is now listed doubtful for Friday's game.
