Former Major League Baseball player Brad Lesley has died at the age of 54, according to a TMZ report.
According to his ex-wife, Chiho Svimonoff, the former athlete-turned-actor had been living in a nursing home, where he was receiving dialysis for his kidney problems, for the past seven months. Svimonoff then told the website that Lesley was rushed to a hospital in Marina Del Rey on Saturday night and ultimately died from kidney failure.
Lesley made his Major League debut on July 31, 1982, where he was pitching for the Cincinnati Reds, and was later traded to the Milwaukee Brewers in 1984 before being let go from the team in 1985.
During his time outside of baseball he then went into showbusiness, appearing on a Japanese game show "Takeshi's Castle" in 1986.
He furthered his career as an actor landing movie roles in 90's films, including "Mr. Baseball," "A Boy Called Hate," "Big Monster on Campus" and the 1994 smash hit "Little Big League," where he played an angry pitcher.
