Juventus Ponder Torres Move - Report

Italian Serie A TIM side Juventus are reportedly interested in bringing Chelsea forward Fernando Torres to Turin next season, according to a goal.com report

The Serie A giants are believed to be looking to add more firepower ahead of their probable return to Champions League football... as also to offset the imminent departure of club captain and talisman Alessandro Del Piero.

The reports say Juventus' sporting director, Fabio Paratici, has already contacted Torres' former agent Margarita Garay to discuss transfer possibilities. The Italians have been linked to several high-profile strikers in the recent past, including Real Madrid's Gonzalo Higuain.

However, according to a report in the Metro, it is also understood that Juventus' general director Giuseppe Marotta is only prepared to offer a loan deal for now, with an option to sign depending on the player's performance in Serie A.

Torres, 28, joined Chelsea from Liverpool in January 2011, for a record fee of £50m. The Spaniard has, however, failed to impress to any degree at all and has only scored thrice in 36 league games. He ended his 24-match goal drought by netting twice in Chelsea's 5-2 FA Cup quarter-final triumph over Leicester City last weekend will be hoping those goals are a catalyst to retaining his place at Stamford Bridge.
