Bernard Tomic has been one of the most controversial players in recent years due to his play in certain matches and accusations of tanking, now his father John is in the news after being arrested for assaulting his playing partner Thomas Drouet.
According to SI.com, Tomic's father grew angry while in Madrid last week and headbutted Tomic's playing partner, French player Thomas Drouet, leaving him in a neck brace afer being treated for injuries. He was formally charged and according to SI, the father previously struck Tomic last month before Monte Carlo due to an argument between Drouet and himself. Tennis Australia may not be able to punish John after coming up in various controversial incidents, although they were able to in the pact when he was on the junior tour.
The report said that the incident occurred after Tomic tried to force Drouet to buy him a carton of milk and Drouet later said that he had been treated like a "dog" by the father for months. He said he has constantly been verbally abusive to him and clearly it got worse as Drouet said he was headbutted by the father.

"After 100m or something like this he was looking around and then he started again. I thought he was going to say sorry for the verbal abuse, but no.
"He spat in my face, then walked away, and said he wouldn't pay me any more.
"I said, 'OK, John, you are a real man. That's fine. Bernard will pay me'.
"And he headbutted me.
"Every day he treat me like a dog for six months, with disrespect and then this. But he need to be off the ATP (tour)."
