Manchester City will look to cement second place in the English Premier League when they host West Brom.
City have been a little underwhelming this season, which has led to Manchester United grabbing the Premier League title back with authority. With nothing much to play for in the league, Roberto Mancini will be slightly weary of the threat posed by Chelsea to second place.
Man City currently lead the Blues by four points, and will be keen to garner all three points against West Brom, after their flat performance against Swansea at the weekend.
Mancini is expected to field a second-string side, with the F.A. Cup final against Wigan looming large Tuesday.
West Brom, who are eighth on 48 points, also have nothing much to play for, but manager Steve Clarke wants his side to spring a surprise against City at the deposed champions' fortress that is the Etihad, following their disappointing loss to Wigan at the weekend.
"It's a good game," Clarke said. "It's the champions of last season and they will want to finish well. They always play well at home, they're a good team and they have some fantastic players. It's a challenge for us.
"The squad is a little bit stretched at the moment and I've had a good think about what I'm going to do tonight (Monday). I will get a team on the pitch that will go there and compete. Hopefully we'll get a result that makes up for the disappointment of Saturday.
Clarke insisted City will give them a tough game, irrespective of the team that is put out by Mancini.
"They've got a squad of players that is packed full of internationals and quality. Whether Roberto chooses to play his full team in preparation for the final, or whether he chooses to make some changes, they will be a strong team.
"We are looking forward to what will be a difficult game. It's a good game for us. There is no pressure on us going there, everybody expects us not to get a good result.
"But, inside our camp, we're quite determined to make up for Saturday's disappointment."
City will be without Scott Sinclair, while West Brom have doubts over Chris Brunt and Goran Popov.
