The media circus around the New York Jets have quiet downed a bit with the releasing of backup quarterback Tim Tebow, but now as they look to improve on their roster they're looking at new potential offensive weapons.

In comes free agent Joshua Cribbs, formerly of the Cleveland Browns, who visited with the Jets yesterday, according to the New York Post.

Though he's had a rough time finding a new place to call home, if the Jets were to pick him up they'd likely use the speedy Cribbs as not only as a receiving threat, but also an explosive kickoff returner and a potential orchestrator for running the Wildcat offense.

However, according to two NFL sources, the Jets aren't the only team vying for Cribbs talents, as it was reported that he made a visit with the Oakland Raiders earlier this week and received a contract offer.

If that's the case the Jets may want to make a play on Cribbs soon as he'll surely be a valuable throwing weapon for the Jets' Mark Sanchez, who is still considered the team's starting quarterback.

Despite his struggles during their hectic season last year, Sanchez still receives support from his teammates around the locker room. One being an unsuspected supporter in wide receiver Santonio Holmes.

While appearing on the NBA Sports Network, Holmes was asked on who he felt should be the starting quarterback.

"Right now, it's Sanchez, and that's who we're going with, and we're going to continue on this road until time permits," Holmes said in his first public comments since last season.
