It seems the friendship between former NBA player Dennis Rodman and North Korea leader Kim Jong Un won't go away, as Rodman tells TMZ that he will plan to travel back to North Korea in August because President Barack Obama "can't do sh*t."
According to the gossip website, Rodman said he plans to do everything he can the get the "dear leader" to release Kenneth Bae, an American citizen who was sentenced to do 15 years of hard labor in North Korea for allegedly scheming to overthrow the government.
Rodman says that despite his efforts to plead on behalf of Bae, he contest that he's "no diplomat."
He later confirmed allegations of his criticism towards President Obama for not dealing with Kim face to face to resolves their issues.
"We got a black president [who] can't even go talk to [Kim]" Rodman said, adding "Obama can't do sh*t, I don't know why he won't go talk to him."
In his first trip to North Korea, Rodman accompanied the Harlem Globetrotters players and some reporters back in February, a visit that was endorsed by the U.S. State Department. The trip didn't win much support of his fans, but the icing on the cake came when Rodman spoke candidly about the young leader calling Kim a "great guy."
Rodman attempted to portray Kim as misguided young man with good intentions who's desperate to remove the shadow casted upon him by his late father's legacy, Kim Jong Il, who died in 2011.
"He's not his dad. Not his grandpa. He's 28 years old," Rodman said, adding that even though he doesn't condone Kim's litany of abuses - which include the mass imprisonment of some 200,000 citizens in forced labor camps and widespread, government-induced food shortages - he's not passing judgment. After all, didn't Bill Clinton sleep with his "secretary"?
